Biography

Les is now in the 8th year of his racing career. He jumped in the wagon box in 2009 as a brand new driver. After racing a partial season, he was back in 2010, fully committed to the sport. His efforts were rewarded with the WCA’s 2010 Most Improved Driver Award.

Les continued to improve and climb the charts and in 2012, he was once again selected for the WCA’s Most Improved Driver Award. Les’ determined nature and drive for success shot him up the standings again in 2013, garnering him his 3rd WCA’s Most Improved Driver Award. Since then he has maintained his place in the Standings until he had to take a year off in 2016. But one year off was all he could manage and he’s back now, determined to climb the charts again in the coming year.

Les was born and raised in Manning, Alberta, and is the owner/operator of HatrickOilfield, specializing in maintenance and supervision in the oilfield.

He likes hockey and baseball, although his commitments to chuckwagon racing leave very little time for a lot of other summer sports.

Les and his wife Kyla have three children - Destiny, Shanna, and Mason, whom all travel with them each season.  He’s nice guy with a great, supportive family. He is an excellent addition to the club, bringing with his a strong Manning fan base and a competitive edge that make it fun to watch and cheer him on.
