Biography

Glen may come from one of Alberta’s more northern areas, but his name is known throughout western Canada. He started driving chuckwagons in his early 20’s alongside his brothers Jessie and Bruce, and it didn’t take him long to put together some great racing stock and join the pro’s. His 8 year professional career garnered him a host of wins and even a track record at the Rangeland Derby in Calgary. When his two sons Wendell and Cody came of age to start driving, they all ran in the Western Chuckwagon Association, and Glen became a competitor as well as a mentor. He was the WCA Season Champion in 2004, and when the first GMC pickup was presented to the 2006 season winner, it was Glen that drove it home. Last year saw Glen come back from retirement to race at Teepee Creek—this year, we’ll see him there again. He adds some pretty heavy duty competition to the club and it’s always a pleasure to watch him race.

In September of 2012, Glen entered the WPCA runoff and qualified to race in the WPCA circuit for the 2013 racing season. I the spring of 2013, Glen chose to continue racing with our club instead and we welcome him back.
